Text Title ~ Father clutches son's photo in court as three people appear in connection to the alleged murder.

Text Type ~ Article.

Text Creator ~ Sam Sherwood

Critical Literacy Question... What is the text about? How do we know? ~
The text is about a tragic death that has seem to be caused by Murder, a 16-year-old male had been invited and attended a 15-year-olds birthday party, and sadly Connor Whitehead (Victim) had been unfortunately shot and killed the night of the party.

Date ~  8 of November 2021
Date of Scene ~ 5 of November 2021

So far there have been 4 arrests for this murder but there's one more suspect on the run yet to be caught and seen. There was a disagreement that caused some drama and Connor walked outside to calm down and get some fresh air. Then the worst possible thing that could've happened, happened. Connor had contacted his Father when he was at work asking him if he could stay the night at his mate's house. His father replied, "Yes have fun, and be safe".

When His dad made his way back home from work around about 5.30pm Connor was getting ready with a couple of friends. Connor asked if he and his friends could stay at his house following the party, which was fine with him.

At bout 7pm the group went to leave.

"I said, 'Have a good time mate, I love you. '
"He said, 'I love you too. He headed out the door and that was the last time I saw him."

Creating Our Own Short Film ~ English

Best Friend Counselling

Our film is based on two best friends (Xavier and John) that are going to counselling to fix their relationship because the have had some tough times, but it turns out that John has been cheating on his best friend with another guy named Frank.

This is a retelling of the Merchant of Venice because we took the main principles of the court scene and transformed it into a modern setting.

The 2 additional film techniques we used were high angle and over the shoulder.
We chose a high angle to make John look weak and felt like he couldn't do anything to help himself, and we chose over the shoulder to give the viewer some perspective.

Some challenges we encountered was that we didn't have that many days where our whole group was at school so it was hard to get our filming finished so next time we will make sure everybody comes. Another factor was that we couldn't find a good area to film because we needed a place that was empty and a place we could be loud in, we eventually settled with our classroom.

If we were to do this project differently I would plan out where we are going to film in advance and actually write a script as we did this whole film improve.

Purpose ~

To help understand Millennials and improve wellbeing through reducing screen time.

So today in Wananga we learned about how screens and digital devices can really take over our lives and also mess with our love if we ever try to get a job and were addicted to our phones, and if you're on your phone while in a job interview it can be classed as disrespect and makes the people around feel like that you don't care about what's going on around you and you don't want the job.

He was also talking about how you shouldn't be charging your phone next to if you are trying to sleep because anytime during the night you will try and go on it and you wouldn't be able to head back to sleep since you've been around bright lights for too long.

There was a key point that he had a chat about while he was in the interview, he was talking about how that the younger generation on their phone is like adults gambling and smoking because for adults that is addicting and like for kids and teenagers being on your phone is addictive.

He says that our younger generation is bad for this stuff because our body drags us to social media like checking how many followers we have on Instagram, what is our highest snap score, how many friends we have on Facebook, and how many likes we have on a certain Instagram post, we just have the urge to check it every day or even every 3 hours because we are so caught up on our phone and devices.

The Cardiac Muscle (Heart)

 - Brings oxygen into our body
    - It allows us to exhale
       carbon dioxide
       from our body
The Cardiac Muscle (Heart)
The heart is basically a pumping station and pumps blood around the body and is made up of 4 chambers.

This pumping action creates what we know as our pulse.
The blood travels around the body in vessels called:
Arteries have a muscular wall and take blood away from the heart
      Arterioles.               Small arteries
Capillaries.              This is where nutrients and gases are exchanged
     Venuoles.                Small veins
Veins.                Veins don't have a muscular wall but have valve like structures which prevents blood flowing backwards and take blood of to the heart

The blood carries gasses and nutrients to the body and take away waste products such as carbon  dioxide

Christchurch Rubbish

Christchurch Rubbish

So this week and last week in Social Studies we have been learning about Rubbish and how we should properly recycle our Rubbish by also putting the right Rubbish in the right bin that it should be put in, here is some information that I have found out and came here to share with you what I have learned.

When our yellow bins get collected by the Rubbish Trucks, if the trucks sense more than 10% or more rubbish they don't collect the rubbish and if this continues to happen the bins get confiscated, then if they want to get the bins back they have to pay $97.65 to get the bin back, and they have to promise that they'll put the right rubbish in the right bins, somehow they get tracked to see if they are sticking to the rule of the agreement, there are many yuck and stupid things that get put into the bins, stuff such as Guns, Dead Animals, Plastic, Glass, Cardboard & Much more waste.

Fitness.

So this week in P.E we were learning about how good Fitness can be for you, how being fit can help in life, and things can also ruin you from being fit.

Here are some questions that we got asked to answer

What does being physically fit mean?

To be physically fit means to be in a state of health and well-being. Physical fitness is defined as the body’s ability to function efficiently and effectively in work and leisure activities, to be healthy, to resist disease, and to react to emergency situations.

What makes us unfit?

Diet, Your Body, Smoking & Drugs.

In my eyes, I would think that I am fit for my age and I would like to stay that way as long as I can.

Eastern Pacific Ocean

Eastern Pacific Ocean.

Garbage In The Ocean.

Garbage in the ocean has been causing a lot of problems in the world, affecting marine life every day and destroying reefs that could never come back and live. Littering is a major issue worldwide. Littering really affects the oceans, the plastics we use from plastic bottles have been killing whales.

Everyday Use Of Plastic.

The daily use of plastic is growing but also decreasing by a little bit, the litter that people are picking up are being replaced by plastic that we have dropped hopefully by accident, The plastic that we use is being dropped in the ocean which is degrading into microplastics where they are infecting every living thing that needs water to survive.

Government Trying To Make A Change.

Governments have been trying to stop pollution in any shape or form but they can’t force people to do it what they want, that’s why they try to spread the message around the world as much and we can, to do as much as we can to the best of our ability.
