The Cardiac Muscle (Heart)

 - Brings oxygen into our body
    - It allows us to exhale
       carbon dioxide
       from our body
The Cardiac Muscle (Heart)
The heart is basically a pumping station and pumps blood around the body and is made up of 4 chambers.

This pumping action creates what we know as our pulse.
The blood travels around the body in vessels called:
Arteries have a muscular wall and take blood away from the heart
      Arterioles.               Small arteries
Capillaries.              This is where nutrients and gases are exchanged
     Venuoles.                Small veins
Veins.                Veins don't have a muscular wall but have valve like structures which prevents blood flowing backwards and take blood of to the heart

The blood carries gasses and nutrients to the body and take away waste products such as carbon  dioxide
